This movie is about Rafe McCawley (Ben Affleck) and Danny Walker (Josh Hartnett) who join the American airforce as two pilots. They know each other since they were just little kids and learned how to fly in sprinklerplains.
Rafe is in love with Evelyn Johnson who works as a nurse for the American Navy. They separate when Rafe volunteers for the Eagle Squadron, a group American pilots who fight with the English pilots in their battle. Rafe makes a promise to Evelyn that he will return to her, and then goes to Europe.
At the same time Evelyn and Danny are transferred to Pearl Harbor on Hawaï, a beautifull place in the South Sea. Later on Evelyn and Danny receive a message that Rafe is killed. Danny and Evelyn search for support with each other wich later turns into love, untill Rafe returns, wich leads to three broken hearts. Before they can solve their dillema, the Japanese attack Pearl Harbor. Meanwhile Evelyn is pregnant of Danny and tells this to Rafe.
America responds to the attack on Pearl Harbor with a military operation with high risk. The plan is to carry out a bombing on Tokiyo with a suicide commando. Danny and Rafe are selected as crewmembers for this operation. During this operation Danny gets killed, but before he dies Rafe tells him that he is the father of Evelyn’s baby. At the end Evelyn and Rafe are back together again.

I think this a good movie because of the drama in it, but it’s a little tedious. The storyline was necessary because without it the movie would be boring with only attacks on Pearl Harbor. The special effects were great and it really is a movie you have to see on the big-screen. I saw this movie two times, and I’m a big fan of it. One negative point is that you didn’t see much of the Japanese, I guess this is because it’s an American movie.

I guess Bruckenheim and Bay have succeed to create a more spectacular movie like Titanic. For the people who like some tedious drama, and a romantic story-line with some action this is the movie to go to.
